WeWed was a great success! We received so much great & useful feedback. I truly hope that everyone learned and are taking action! I am so excited for WeWed V coming to you this summer as a Multi-Day Event August 22nd & 23rd. We're bringing in BIG speakers for the summer session, so be prepared! What I am most excited about WeWed IV is that its going to be completely and totally interactive. Everyone who attends will be involved. Why? Because nobody knows the wedding industry like we do - the working professionals.

Chapter One: Be Reminded

This first chapter will be all about what we know about our businesses and what we may need to be reminded of. We got to where we are now because we were doing something right in the beginning. Have you forgotten what that was? This chapter will also be about reminding ourselves of what it is like for our clients when they meet and work with us. Prepare for a wake up call.

And this is where I ask for help. I need one person attending from each "wedding category" to be a part of a panel. I promise that you won't be asked to divulge any secrets. But feel free to share them. Everyone likes a good secret. To be eligible, you must have 3 years or 36 weddings experience. Relax and Refresh at WeWed The Resort at Marina Village

One thing I love about The Resort at Marina Village is that it really is an atmosphere where you can relax. All the rooms either have a natural preserve view or a view of the bay and Gulf of Mexico. The rooms are exquisite- particularly the 2 and 3 bedroom units which have full kitchens and screened in balconies.

The Welcome Reception on Tuesday the 15th is an optional cocktail party, meant to give all the registrants and speakers an opportunity to meet each other in advance. There will not be any workshops on the 15th.
On Wednesday the 16th, we will have a full day of workshops, networking & dining. All tickets include all the workshops, break, luncheon and the networker.
The Speakers Supper is also optional and is not included with any of the limited registration tickets.

Last week I was reading the newest issue of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons and I came across a surprise. My blog was mentioned in the article "Brides Who Blog" (pg 42)along with Style Me Pretty, Classic Bride, Kelly Oshiro Events, and Caribbean Journey. It just goes to show that the time (and no $$$) investment into blogging can pay off in more ways than one. It's not always directly to potential clients, others are reading, and its definitely something to factor in.

Twitter Ties

Here's a perfect example of how Twitter works.
I twittered a question to photographers that I was honestly just curious about (this is my constant need to be ridiculously educated).
I received a great response and decided to post a blog about it.
It was by far one of the most popular posts I've posted this year, many comments followed.
One of the photographers who responded to my question, Anne of Anne Ruthmann Photography then posted on her own blog about the reaction and results from my original twitter question. She of course linked directly to my blog post. From that link on her blog, I have received an enormous amount of direct traffic to my blog and my twitter followers jumped exponentially that day.
Why is this important?
Because you never know where your next lead is coming from. Anne has over 2000 twitter followers. When her blog post was picked up by twitter, my business was exposed to those 2000 followers. The key is to remember that not all leads come to you directly.

There could not have been a more perfect setting for this 1st gathering. The theatre at the clubhouse is a phenomenal space for professional discussion and I can only imagine how amazing it would be for a wedding video highlight montage before a stunning rehearsal dinner in the dining room! And the food. WOW. Brunch, the forgotten meal no longer. Your chef amazed us all.
