Blogging does work. Period.

Last week I was reading the newest issue of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons and I came across a surprise. My blog was mentioned in the article "Brides Who Blog" (pg 42)along with Style Me Pretty, Classic Bride, Kelly Oshiro Events, and Caribbean Journey. It just goes to show that the time (and no $$$) investment into blogging can pay off in more ways than one. It's not always directly to potential clients, others are reading, and its definitely something to factor in.

Twitter Ties

Here's a perfect example of how Twitter works.
I twittered a question to photographers that I was honestly just curious about (this is my constant need to be ridiculously educated).
I received a great response and decided to post a blog about it.
It was by far one of the most popular posts I've posted this year, many comments followed.
One of the photographers who responded to my question, Anne of Anne Ruthmann Photography then posted on her own blog about the reaction and results from my original twitter question. She of course linked directly to my blog post. From that link on her blog, I have received an enormous amount of direct traffic to my blog and my twitter followers jumped exponentially that day.
Why is this important?
Because you never know where your next lead is coming from. Anne has over 2000 twitter followers. When her blog post was picked up by twitter, my business was exposed to those 2000 followers. The key is to remember that not all leads come to you directly.
